Our Mission

Our Approach

Our Approach

Soulstice Kids exists to support children and caregivers through meaningful stories, creative play, and authentic connection. We cultivate emotional wellness, self-expression, and embodied resilience by providing accessible resources, learning experiences, and community-centered opportunities that help children thrive while strengthening the bonds between families and communities.

Our Approach

Our Approach

Our Approach

To nurture a generation of emotionally grounded, imaginative, and resilient children who feel deeply connected to themselves, their communities, and the world around themβ€”growing with confidence, creativity, compassion, and a strong sense of belonging.

Our Grounding Pillars:

Story & W onder (Embodied Storytelling)

Growing Together (Collective Healing)

Growing Together (Collective Healing)

We help children explore their feelings, imagination, and experiences through storytelling, movement, creativity, and play. By connecting stories with the body, children learn to express themselves, build confidence in their voice, and understand emotions in gentle and meaningful ways.

Growing Together (Collective Healing)

Growing Together (Collective Healing)

Growing Together (Collective Healing)

We believe children grow best in caring and connected communities. Through shared activities, meaningful connection, reflection, and relationship-building, we create spaces where children and caregivers feel supported, seen, safe, and encouraged to grow together.

Care for Every Little (Health Justice)

Growing Together (Collective Healing)

Care for Every Little (Health Justice)

We believe every child deserves access to care, wellness, joy, and healing. We center culturally rooted, inclusive, and community-based practices that help children feel valued, supported, and connected to themselves, their families, and their communities.

Teaching Narrative Medicine

Stories That Heal

We teach children that their stories matter β€” that sharing, listening, and witnessing each other’s experiences is a form of medicine.

Through carefully designed narrative medicine programs, children learn to use storytelling as a tool for understanding themselves, building empathy, and processing life’s challenges. Our approach integrates creative writing, oral storytelling, and reflective listening to cultivate emotional resilience.

Support a Birthing Person

We created this community meal service as both an ode to birthing people and a reflection of my love for food as medicine. I have crafted hundreds of nourishing meals and herbal blends to support individuals across the full spectrum of the perinatal journey. When you donate, you help offset our sliding scale modelβ€”making these nutrient-rich, love-filled meals accessible to low-income families. We partner with local co-ops and gardens to provide organic, homemade offerings. Each meal is prepared and blessed by my hands with deep intention and care. Whether you are preparing to welcome new life or healing your body after birth and/or miscarriage, this is food designed to hold you. Let food be thy medicine.

When you support birthing people, you support families and generations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at miniyanw@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

SOULSTICE KIDS is a community resource library dedicated to raising emotionally grounded, imaginative, and resilient children. We serve parents, caregivers, educators, and anyone who supports children’s emotional development. Our resources span from prenatal through elementary ages, with content relevant for the whole family.

Social-Emotional Learning is the process through which children develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, and relationship skills. Research shows that strong SEL foundations lead to better academic outcomes, healthier relationships, and improved mental health throughout life. Our tools make SEL accessible and joyful for families.

Narrative medicine uses storytelling as a healing practice. For children, this means learning to express their experiences, name their feelings, and find meaning through stories they tell and hear. It builds emotional vocabulary, fosters empathy, and helps children process challenging experiences in a safe, creative way.

We uniquely combine three pillarsβ€”Embodied Storytelling, Collective Healing, and Health Justiceβ€”into everything we do. Our approach is holistic, culturally affirming, and rooted in the belief that emotional wellness is a community practice, not just an individual one. We focus on connection over correction and creativity over compliance.

We honor Waawiyatanong (β€œwhere the waters curve”), so called Detroit, as the ancestral and living homeland of the Anishinaabe peoplesβ€”including the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomiβ€”and the Wyandot Nation, holding this land and water in reverence while acknowledging the genocide, ethnic cleansing, and ongoing settler colonial violence endured here, and honoring Indigenous sovereignty, survival, and the healing wisdom of Indigenous peoples who continue to care for this land.
